01Integrated work tools
When I ask Grok Bot to create a file, like a CSV with certain data, I can't preview it at all on mobile, and on desktop I can't edit it. Being able to co-work on documents alongside Grok Bot would be a productivity multiplier, because sometimes I want to make small changes that I am faster to do myself.
The files still live on the bot's computer, so all this is is a nicer interface than interacting through the virtual machine's display. Same goes for Slides.
02Recap
If a Bot sends me a ton of messages, I don't want to read through everything. I usually send a "summarize what's new" message, but that feels backwards.
A little Recap pill that shows in the right moment and brings up a summary is all it takes. It's really intuitive and doesn't interfere with actual work.
03Rounded icons and liquid glass
The current icons carry the Cursor brand identity. I matched them to the Grok ones, which are more rounded and make the app feel a lot more modern too. Also notice the Liquid Glass in the context menu, which I believe feels a lot better than the current custom implementation.
04Smoother sending
Sending a message should feel great. This one is (to be fair) a little inspired at how Claude and ChatGPT did their message sending animation, but it is a big UX improvement nevertheless.
The typing indicator is not supposed to be part of this concept. It's been a temporary solution for me because I didn't want to recreate the Grok Bot thinking/loading indicator.
05Zoom out & outline
Long chats with a bot get hard to navigate. I initially thought of a way to bring back threads to Grok Bot, but that felt like a step backwards. Instead, I worked on 3 things. First, quickly find a place in the chat history by being able to pinch out and see messages grouped by session (topic). Tapping anywhere brings the user right back to that position in the chat.
On Desktop, that could look like a new Outline tab next to Details, Bibliothek and Computer. Like a table of contents it shows the most recent things this Bot worked on.
06Hold to talk
Voice messages should be as quick as a walkie-talkie. I believe having the option to press and hold, release to send makes a lot of sense. This doesn't replace the current version, a single tap still starts hands-free dictation. I also reworked the slide left to trash interaction
07Semantic search
Currently search only finds what is a perfect matching. I want it to be able to search semantically, based on what a conversation was about, not how it was phrased.
When nothing matches, Grok takes over and searches by meaning.
